Repatative

As you said, definitely repeatative, but that's alright. The mixdown is solid, I think the break may be a bit repeatative too, but you said something about the ghost snares disappearing, which would make sense.

When the break comes in, it completely pushes out the layers of your song, it doesn't melt in, you need to turn it down a bit, or do something with it.

It's not bad at all though, I think I'll give your other songs a listen.
And btw, what was your production method? Cubase, Logic, Ableton, FL?

Nav responds:

Well, to tell you the truth, this was an experimentation... Quite old by my standards.

FL7 was used here.

Good stuff.

Amazing everything, music, and the solos are greatness. I only wish you used non-trance drums, you should really try that.

Production value is great :)

Keep it going, I love it.

Clipping

THE BAD

There are a few clipping issues in this song, just so you know.

The beggining of the song has some frequencies that really grind on me ears.

THE GOOD

This other than those SMALL production issues, is amazing in prouction value over all. The melody is very touching, and I can DEFINITELY feel all the emotion that went into it. The reoccuring themes... and together it has perfect tension and release :)
This is a beautiful for the genre it is.

THE REALLY GOOD

I'll definitely add you to favorite artists, but you have to check out my tunes, deal? ;)

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Yeah I knew about the clipping :( I should go back and fix it but not sure how sometimes.

I'll go give your stuff a look thanks for the review.

Hmm

Those four on the floor drums... like the last reviewer said, they are the power that drive trance.

However, your kicks, in the beginning, sound REALLY intrusive.. in a GOOD way, you could definitely add some power to it. But leave the tripplet kicks at the beggining, and if you take them out later in the track, that would sound baller.

The synth is repeatative. You could of done more, you just didn't want to :( gets old fast. But the opening line is good.

I like it.

New-Milkman responds:

Thanks, I'll see if I can do anything more with the synth. But in all honesty, trance isn't really my thing at the moment, so it will probably take me a lot of experimenting.

Grave Rave

Well for drum n bass, I think you need more highs... your snare hits are good, the second hit that has significantlyless velocity seems a bit amissthough.

My main complain in my opinion, is your main synth. It doesn't sound eqed, and after 2:13 it pushes your sound out a bit. It's really grinding, I'd add some delay on it, and a flanger, really fuck that thing up. Maybe some bitcrusher, distortion, tube, tape, honestly the more fucked it is, generally the better it sounds and the less grinding :)

Your drum beats are effective. Just try some more hats and ride :)

With some work and production, this could be a really banging tune.

New-Milkman responds:

Thanks! I didn't really know a whole lot about building reeses, but I'm definatly working on mixing much better ones, as well as creating my own drum sounds (or at least as much as I can). Because like I said, the drums are sampled from Nav's "X-mas gift". And the second hit you mention is probably one that I threw in myself for a bit of variety.

Hmm

I like the sound of your hoover it's a good start.... the chords at the beginning don't go with yoursynth at all it sounds. also the kick drum has no bass in it. and you should layer a bass synth under your main... don't be afraid to use more layers :)

Needs some layering, it'll sound LOADS better. Remember drum'n'bass is partially about those synths but also filling the entire soundscape with FAT sound.

heyallyes.

The highs in the beginning seem a BIT clipped.

The dynamics on your drums are phenominal as always, and the emotional movement in the song is great. The entrance of the drums is amazing.

Also the dynamics on your break and some other hits is perfect. I almost want to see it climax more, though; but it's definitely ambient. I'd like to hear this in the background.

The arp you used seems somewhat out of place, but the panning is glorious.

:) I love it.

It seems..

I love the melodies, really catchy, but it seems a bit smashed. Some of the layers overlap at times.

What did you use for your orchestral samples? I really like them.

Musically the song is very impressive, just the levels in the beginning. And the saw synth seems a bit too piercing for the song at time...

Over all good song.

B-man123 responds:

I used the orchestral symphony jam pack for GarageBand

drumnbass

You could use a bit more compression/ output gain on your snare, it sounds a bit 'tinny'

also throw a heavier hitting bass in there, it's dnb :) I like the flow, needs more dynamic evolution too, gets a bit old.

The production is there though, good work! Keep it up :)

TheJay responds:

Thanks, I might redo this song some day. I'll post some 'bigger' sounding music soon, just starting to get the hang of the genre and producing in general

Amazing tune

Amazing tune, the highs hurt me ears in the beginning though :(

nubbinownz responds:

oh doctor attitude ;) <3 thank you much for the review.

An ecclectic fellow, one with a hat. A mighty hat.
